The Podechesis Podcast (Episode 19) On Jesus Christ Part 2: On the Incarnation

What is the incarnation?  Did the second person of the Trinity really put on flesh and experience the human reality?  What is meant by the creedal affirmations of conception by the Holy Spirit and Jesus being born of a virgin?  Is affirmation to the  virgin birth necessary to Christian faith?  If Jesus was tempted as we are, did he also experience sin as we do?

On this episode of The Podechesis Podcast, the guys discuss question 22 of John Wesley’s Revision of the Westminster Shorter CatechismHow did Christ, being the Son of God, become man?  Brett, Allen, and Jim will discuss big theological issues like the incarnation, the virgin birth, Christ’s sinlessness, and why Mary is important to all Christians.

Along the way, Brett proves he’s right about which episode number this is, Jim proves he’s wrong, and Allen brings out the old TI-85 to show that both Jim and Brett have lost the plot.

The Podechesis Podcast (Episode 18) On Jesus Christ Part 1: Jesus the Redeemer

Who is Jesus?  What does it mean that he is the redeemer?  Lord?  Son of God?  Eternal?  How is Jesus the answer to the sin problem?  Does Jesus still matter today?

In this episode of The Podechesis Podcast, Brett, Jim, and Allen discuss question 21 of John Wesley’s Revision of the Westminster Shorter Catechism: Who is the redeemer of God’s Elect (mankind).  They discuss the divinity of Jesus, his humanity, and why it is important that he was more than a great teacher and moral figure from the past.  The guys will also talk about some different heresies, church councils, and what the early church really thought of him.

Along the way, Jim will make a wager, Allen will dream of shamrocks, and Brett will be craving a bowl of Lucky Charms by the end of the episode.
